July Favourites!

Since it is the last day in July today, I thought I would do my first ever favourites post. I'm going to share with you's the beauty, hair and skincare products that I have been enjoying using though out the sunny month of July. Lets get started then...

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze:
I seem to have been reaching for this a lot more this month. It is such a beautiful colour and the pigmentation is great. It blends perfectly onto the lid without any hassle or time. This product is perfect if you are in a rush as it makes you look like you've put in effort even though you haven't.

Essence All About Matte Fixing Loose Powder
I got this powder while I was on holiday and I only started using it this month. It really does do what it says on the packet. I don't have any problem with shine when I use this product and I don't feel the need to re-apply the it through the day which is a huge bonus. So i've definitely been loving that.

L'oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim
I'm normally a gel eyeliner girl but not this month. I have been loving this liquid liner. I can easily create a thin, thick or winged line very quickly. The felt tip applicator definitely makes it super simple to use.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 19
I am a big fan of the Kate Moss lipsticks anyway but I really have been using this a lot this month. It's a nude pink colour that is slightly darker than my natural lip colour. I seems to go with a lot of different make-up looks.

The Body Shop Born Lippy in Watermelon
I have been applying this lip balm almost every night before I go bed. It keeps my lips hydrated and stops them from becoming chapped. It also smells soo good!!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
I have recently been on a lot of early shifts at work so this product is great for me. It makes my hair look freshly washed which is all I look for in a dry shampoo. I seem to have acquired 4 cans of the stuff so I must like it.

Dove Leave-in Conditioning & Care Spray
I've been using this spray on wet hair and it works great. The thing I really notice about it is that it helps get the knots out of my hair before I brush it. I really love how it sprays in a mist so it coats all of my hair evenly and it smells lovely!

 Cario Miracle Oil
This hair oil has definitely helped my hair stay hydrated this month since it could of easily gotten dry because of the warm weather. I've been applying it to the ends of my hair just whenever I feel it needs a bit of moisture and its helped reduce split ends.

St Ives Apricot Scrub
This face scrub is brilliant, it leaves my skin very soft and smooth. I have definitely noticed that the amount of blemishes I usually get has been greatly reduced since I started using this.

Make-up, Hair & Outfit: Party

Hi Everyone!

I hope you's all had a lovely weekend. I was lucky enough to be off work the whole weekend which was brilliant and I had my friends 18th Birthday party on Saturday night. It was a great night so I thought I would do a kind of 'Get ready with me' post. Enjoy!
This is how my hair & make-up turned out.

To start off, I obviously moisturised my skin using Neutrogena visibly clear pink grapefruit moisturiser. I then applied my favourite primer which is the photo flawless primer by 17. I then decided to use my revlon colourstay foundation as it has great coverage and staying powder which is great for a party. To apply my foundation I used my beauty blender. The concealer I used for both blemishes and under my eyes was Collection's lasting perfection concealer which I blended in using my fingers. I then dusted my Rimmel stay matte powder all over my face to make sure my foundation stayed in place. For bronzer I used NARS lagoona. I used it to contour and to give myself a bronze glow. The blush I used was Spice from NYX. I applied this to the apples of my cheeks and blended toward my temple.

For my eyes I of course I cracked open my MAC palette. The first colour I chose to use was Naked Lunch, which I put all over my lid. I then smudged Wedge into my crease to give some subtle definition. After I blended that out I placed Brun onto the outer corner of my eye to achieve a more smokey look and blended until there were no harsh lines. I then used a white kohl eyeliner by Barry M to highlight my inner corner. After that applied Loreal's super liner onto my top lash line and winged it out slightly to elongate my eye. To my lower waterline I applied my favourite black kohl eyeliner which is Maybelline's master drama liner. I also smudged that into my lower lash line, concentrating it on the outer half. To my lashes I applied masterpiece max mascara from Maxfactor and that was my eyes done.

For my lips, I wanted something that was about the same colour as my dress so I decided on Lustering by MAC. It was the perfect colour.

I decided I wanted to go for wavy hair for a change since I usually wear my hair either straight or up. Firstly I used Loreal Elnett satin heat styling spray to protect my hair. To achieve the wavys, I used two different curling irons. They were both by Babyliss just with different barrel sizes, one was 25mm and the other 38mm. I also done a half french braid with the front section of my hair just to keep it out of my face. I secured the braid just behind my ear using a hair grip. (A half french braid is when you only add hair from one side instead of both.) I finished off my hair by coating it evenly with hairspray. I used Tesco's maximum hold hairspray - it is very good and very cheap.

Bright pink dress - H&M - £14.99
Black heeled boots - New Look - £19.99
Black belt with gold plate - Miss Guided - £8.99

5 Loves & 5 Hates

Today I thought I would do something a little bit different. I decided I wanted to do a more personal post so you all get to know me better. So I'm going to tell you 5 things I love and 5 things I hate. Its very simple but you can actually learn quite a lot about someone in 10 facts! So lets get into it...

1. My dog, Domino!
My family rescued her from a greyhound centre in Scotland. It is honestly one of the best things i've ever done as I can see how much we changed her life by just giving her a home. She is the most adorable dog ever and she always brightens my day.

2. My 'Follow Your Dreams' Wall Art.

This means a lot to me as it reminds me every morning to keep reaching for my dreams. No matter how far away they seem, if you work hard you will achieve anything you want too.

3. Driving
The day I past my driving test was one of the best days of my life.If anyone else is thinking about learning to drive, I would honestly say go for it! The freedom is great and I genuinely love to drive, it makes it easier to escape from life for a little while.

 4. Everything & Anything Mint

I have a very strange obsession with the colour and taste of MINT! I'm not going to say too much more about it since i'm dedicating a whole post to it which  is on its way soon.

5. Katie Piper

She is one of the most amazing people in the world. If you haven't heard of her, then you definitely should. She gives beautiful a completely new and different meaning. I will always be inspired by her.

1. Birds & Butterflies
These two things honestly make my skin crawl, I just hate them so much. I don't like them anywhere near me. The only birds I do like are ducks just because they don't fly much and they make a cute quacking sound.

2. Getting up early
Honestly, this is quite a recent thing that i've learned to hate but it is definitely a hate now. Being a waitress, I do have to endure breakfast shifts which force me to roll out of bed at 5:30am. That is far too early and I need multiple alarms to actually wake me up.

3. Being Cold
I absolutely detest being cold but I seem to be cold all the time. My family honestly thinks i'm cold blooded... So as you can imagine i'm not a big fan of winter, I much prefer the glorious sunny, warm weather we've been having the past couple of weeks.

4. Aeroplanes
I am really bad when it comes to flying. I get travel sick and I get bad shooting pains down the side of my neck when we're about to land. It's just not very enjoyable for me but I obviously do love going abroad.

5. Fish
I honestly hate every single thing about fish. I hate the way they look, feel and taste. They just look really creepy with their beady eyes and scaly skin.

So there you are, 5 things I love and 5 things I hate. I hope you got to know me a little better and enjoyed reading it.

Have a lovely day whatever you get up to!

MAC Eyeshadow Collection & Swatches

Today I thought I would share my MAC eyeshadow collection with you all. I really love reading about other peoples collections, especially to help me decided on what eyeshadow to buy next so hopefully you's will find this helpful too. Although my collection isn't the biggest and I haven't filled my palette yet I still wanted to show it. I have been collecting MAC eyeshadows for nearly two years now and i'm sure my collection will slowly continue to grow.

The first eyeshadow in my palette is Shroom. It is a very light almost white colour with shimmer. I love using this eyeshadow as a subtle inner corner highlight and a brow bone highlight.

The next eyeshadow is Naked Lunch, which is a very pretty pale frosty pink eyeshadow with shimmer. This colour looks great all over the lid and it can be used as a highlight. This is probably one of my favourite colours I own.

All That Glitters is another MAC eyeshadow I have. This one is very similar to Naked Lunch but it is more of a gold colour rather than pink. I honestly wouldn't have bought this eyeshadow if I had known how alike the two were but it is still very pretty.

The fourth eyeshadow in my palette is Wedge, it is a soft matte beige/brown. I don't use this eyeshadow as much as I should but i'm definitely going to try to use it more.  I have used it before as a base colour all over the lid for other eyeshadows and in the crease for subtle definition. Both ways it works great.

I also have Quarry eyeshadow. This one is a brown with definite purple undertones. I really like this paired with Handwritten, they go together very well.

One of the colours I wore to my school prom was Patina and that was the day I completely fell in love with it. Patina is a taupe with gold shimmer, it's such a beautiful colour especially when used all over the lid.

Satin Taupe is the other eyeshadow I wore to my prom and I love it paired with Patina. I know this colour is very popular through the blog community so I know I don't have to talk about it too much. It is the perfect taupe colour with silver shimmer.

The newest addition to my MAC palette is Mulch. It is a lovely bronze colour with red tones, I haven't had much opportunity to experiment with this colour yet but on the occasions I have, I really liked it.

The next one is Charcoal Brown, it is a muted matte brown. This is the perfect colour for filling in my brows but I have recently been using it more for definition in the crease.

My first ever eyeshadow I purchased from MAC was espresso. I really like to smudge it under my eyes and it also looks great in the crease. Espresso is a matte golden brown.

Handwritten is described as a "rich chocolate brown" and it is but it definitely has some purple undertones in it. This colour is great for achieving a smoky eye.

Finally, I have Brun. Brun is a matte blackish brown and is the darkest colour I own. I don't seem to be drawn to this colour too much since it is so dark but with certain looks it is perfect. I like to use this in the outer corner as it darkens up the eye without using a harsh black.

Thanks for reading!
Sorry for it being so long but I wanted to include swatches so everyone can see the colours easier. Hope you all have a great day!

Dressing Table Essentials/Organisation

Hey everyone!

I've been trying to sort my dressing table out for months but i've never been happy with it until now. I spent ages moving it to different spaces in my room and buying things to keep it organised and tidy.

So here is my current dressing table set up -

  • Magnified Mirror - This is quite a recent addition to my dressing table but it has made a big difference. It helps so much when i'm doing my eye make-up as I can see exactly what i'm doing without getting too close to the mirror. I have also found that using my liquid and gel eyeliners are easier as I have been able to get it more precise.
  • Natural Lighting - I struggled with the most as my window is in an awkward place. After many attempts to get my full dressing table in natural light, I gave up and settled for half of it. Natural lighting is brilliant, it's great to make sure your foundation is the right colour for you and that it is all blended in properly.
  • Lamp - I needed a way to light up the second half of my dressing table so obviously I opted for a lamp. Its not as good as the natural lighting but it stops half of my face being dark and I really couldn't resist this lamp. I've had my eye on it for months, it's just so cute!
  • Cotton buds - I don't know about anyone else but I definitely make mistakes when i'm doing my make-up so I like to have cotton buds next to me so I can quickly fix it.
  • Moisturiser & MAC Fix + - These items are always on my dressing table now as I went through a time where I just didn't bother moisturising which was a big mistake as my skin became very dry. So now since they are right in my view I will always remember. I also use my fix + before and after applying my foundation so its easy to reach for.
  • Notepad - This is probably quite a strange thing for me to keep on my dressing table but I use it to write down anything I need to remember to do or buy. I find it very helpful as I have such a bad memory, if I didn't I would probably forget.

  • Eyeshadow Palettes - My favourite eyeshadow palettes live on the top of my dressing table all the time as I reach for them on a daily basis so it is just easier. I keep them organised the same way as a lot of people, by using a letter holder. Its simple and cheap but very effective.
  • Lip Balms - I put lip balm on every morning before I start my make-up so my lips are hydrated ready for lipstick application. They are stored in a cute cocktail glass that I got for my 18th Birthday. This means that I always know where my lip balms are since I seem to lose them all the time!
  • Lipsticks - While I was on holiday I found acrylic lipstick holders for a very good price so I decided to get one as I didn't have any. I decided to store all my MAC lipsticks in it as I love them all so much I didn't want to keep them in a drawer with all my other lip products.
  • Make-up Brushes - I like to try to keep my make-up brushes organised in relation to what I use them for eg. face brushes, eyeshadow blending brushes and brushes for liquid products. I store them a brush holder, a small plastic container and a candle jar.

Thanks for reading and here are some links to the places I got some of my essentials and organisation items.

    Magnified mirror - TK Maxx
    Lamp - Asda
    Make-up brush holder - elf
