September Favourites!

Hello Everyone!

I can't believe we are at the end of another month, they seem to be going by quicker and quicker. Surprisingly, I don't have that many favourites this month but I thought I would still share them anyway!

Urban Decay Naked Palette
I finally invested in this lovely palette at the start of the month and I am so glad I did. I kept putting off buying it because of the price but after a couple of weeks of saving, I couldn't resist any longer. The colours are very well pigmented and easily wearable through the day. I have used this palette so much this month so I just had to include it. My favourite colours in the palette are Buck, Virgin, Naked, Darkhorse and Toasted. Here is a look I created using this palette.

No.7 Stay Perfect Foundation
This has been my go-to foundation all month. It has great medium to full coverage and leaves a really flawless finish. I would say it lasts about 8 hours on my skin but with a bit of concealer and powder touch up, you're good to go again.

NARS Orgasm Blush
I got this blush a few months ago but I honestly didn't used it very much until the start of Septemeber. It is quite a bright pink and it has a lot of shimmer in it. It gives the face a nice glow without being over powering.

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Butter
I love this stuff, I honestly can't get enough of it. It smells exactly like freshly picked peaches which is one of my favourite scents ever. I wrote a whole review about this so you can read it here.

My random favourite this month is a phone case. I just think it is the cutest thing ever. It is called a Snuggs and is from the brand UGG. My phone fits in it perfectly and it has a button detail which obviously attracted it to me immediately.

Thank you so much for reading!

What have you been loving this month?

Floral in Fall

I love floral but now that we are definitely into Fall they can become quite hard to wear since they are seen as a more Spring/Summer fabric. A couple of weeks ago I saw a lovely floral skirt in New Look but I couldn't decided whether to buy it or not since the weather is getting a lot colder here in Scotland. After a couple of days I caved and went back to buy it.

All I wanted to do was make sure the outfit would be cosy enough to wear during Fall and it actually turned out to be an easier task than I thought.

Here is what I came up with:
This outfit is great, it is definitely perfect for Fall and it was very inexpensive. One of the things I love most about this outfit is the wool tights. They have a cute little pattern on them which gives the outfit a slightly different look and they are also super cosy.
I think this outfit would also look great with a chunky knit cardigan and a scarf on those chillier days. You could also switch the ankle boots for ridding boots to make it even warmer.

This just shows that florals can work all year round which is great since I do have quite a few floral pieces in my wardrobe. Thanks for reading and I hope you are all having a good day!

REVIEW: The Body Shop's Body Butter in Vineyard Peach!

I'm generally not a big fan of body moisturises/body butters etc mostly because I hate the way they feel on the skin. So many of them that I have tried just seem to stay of the surface and not actually absorb into my skin. I don't know about anyone else but I don't have time to stand about for ages every day just waiting for my body moisturiser to dry. I kind of gave up on them after that which I know I shouldn't have but I did.

Although a couple weeks ago I felt determined to find a body moisturiser that worked! This is when I stumbled across The Body Shop. I honestly don't know why I didnt think of there before but I didn't. As soon as I saw and smelt the Vineyard Peach body butter I had to have it. I have to admint the body butters are quite expensive at £13 for 200ml but it just smelt so amazingly good that I couldn't put it back.

The moisturiser its self is just as amazing as the smell. It doesn't take long to absorb into my skin, it leaves it feeling silky soft all day and best of all the smell sticks to my skin really well. The consistencey of the product is really thick and creamy so it doesn't feel oily on the skin at all.

As far as I know the Vineyard Peach body butter is limited edition (I'm not sure if that has changed or not) so if you're a huge fan of the smell of peaches (like me) and want to try out a new body butter I definitely fully recommend this one!

Autumn Make-up Look!

Please excuse the red splodge on one of my eyes. It has been a bit blood shot the past couple of days.
In spirit of the beginning of Autumn, I thought I would create a make-up look that's appropriate and easily wearable at this lovely time of year. Along with a lot of other people I love autumn and I just can't wait to get more into it.

To start off I primed my skin with my usual 17 photo flawless primer and then followed up with my L'oreal True Match Foundation. I applied my foundation with my well loved Beauty Blender. For concealer I used the Rimmel wake me up under my eyes and the collection lasting perfection on any imperfections. To set my make up I went in with my Rimmel stay matte powder. I also contoured my face using my NARS Laguna bronzer and for blush I chose Sleek's Life's a Peach which I applied to the apples of my cheecks then blended towards my temple. After that I filled in my eyebrows with MAC charcoal brown and set them with my not so clear 17 clear mascara.

For my eyes I wanted quite a smokey look so I decided to use some colours from my Urban Decay Naked palette. Before adding any eyeshadow I primed my eyes with the cute little Primer Potion sample that came with the palette. I then applied the colour Sidecar all over my lid using a fluffy blending brush. On the same brush I took a little bit of Sin and placed it on the inner half of my eyelid over where I put Sidecar. After that I picked up the colour Naked on, yet again, the same brush and used it to give some subtle crease definition. To darken up the look, I used Darkhorse which I applied using a flat eyeshadow brush. I patted this on to the outer quarter of my eye, then I got a clean blending brush and blended away! I also applied Darkhorse on my lower lash line. Finally I used Virgin to highlight my tear duct area and brow bone.

The eyeliner I used on my upper lash line was Maybelline's Black gel eyeliner and on my lower lash line I used MAC's Teddy. For mascara I went for Maybelline One by One followed by Max Factor  Master Piece Max.

The finishing touch to my Autumn look was to add a lovely, dark, plum lip colour. To create this I used Relvon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 005 Crush and NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in LG143 Plum.

I hope you liked my Autumn make-up look. Have a lovely day :)!

MAC Lipstick Collection & Swatches!

Hi Everyone, I hope you all are enjoying the beginning of Fall!

I don't know about anyone else but I love reading posts about other peoples MAC lipstick collections so I guess its only fair that I share mine too. I have a very little collection but I honestly put a lot of thought into what MAC lipsticks I want to buy since they are very expensive. My collection is definitely still growing but at the moment, i'm quite content with my fabulous seven, that I won't be investing in anymore for a while.

(I did go a little fall/autumn crazy in this post but hey ho got to get into the spirit!)

Now on to my collection (swatches at the end) -

Fanfare was my first ever MAC lipstick and it is definitely one of my favourites. It is a cremasheen finish so it has a slightly glossy effect and is quite moisturising. I describe fanfare as a 'my lips but better colour'. It would definitely fall under the nude category but a very pinky nude.

Sweetie is the perfect pink. Its not too bright and its certainly not a nude. The lipstick has some simmer in it but it looks amazing on the lips. It a very versitile colour which means it goes with a lot of looks. Sweetie is a Lustre finish so it is quite sheer but I find the colour can be built up quickly.

Hot Gossip

I find plum coloured lipsticks suit my skin tone the best so that's why I bought the lovely Hot Gossip. It is a cremesheen finish and its great for day-to-day wear as I find its quite a subtle plum compared to other ones I have that can be quite bright.

Brave is a satin finish and it is the closest thing to a MAC nude lipstick that I own. I seem to have a bit bother with nudes as I find a lot of the don't suit me. So when it came to purchasing Brave, a lot of careful consideration was put in before hand. It is definitely a pink-nude but it works perfectly when I do heavy or colourful eye look. This quickly became my favourite nude lipstick.

The easiest way to describe Lustering is - Bright pink! Although because its a Lustre is does sheer out slightly when it goes onto the lips. This also helps to make it more wearable.

Plumful is one of my bright plums that I was talking about early but oh my I love it. This is a favourite MAC lipstick along with Fanfare of course. It is a Lustre finish although that doesn't seem to affect the colour at all! It will definitely be getting a lot of use since we're at the start of Fall now.

Last but not least we have Crosswires. This lipstick is a lovely pinky coral and it is another cremesheen finish. It is quite bright on the lips so it is definitely one of them statement lipsticks. It works great if you need to make yourself look decent quick as you can just through this on along with a bit of mascara and eyeliner and you're good to go.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my collection!

My Skincare Routine!

Before I properly start this post I have to admit I'm not the best with skincare. I know its terrible and I really shouldn't be so lazy with it but most of the time I really cant be bothered. My current skincare rountine seems to be working the best for me since I have been able to easily stick to it over the past couple of months. It only takes me about 10 minutes in the morning and the same in the evening to get my skincare done and out of the way, which is perfect for me.

I have noticed a slight change in my skin over the past few months since sticking to my skincare. My skin is just normal but I do get the odd dry stage now and then. Although because of my routine, I have been able to stop the dryness completely so my skin is just normal all the time now. I do, of course, get the odd spot like everyone else but I am very lucky to say that its not too frequent. So after all that uneeded rambling, lets get into the products...

As you can see from the picture I am a big fan of Simple. I know it is a very popular and well known brand so when I was shopping for skincare to try, this was definitely high on my list. It turns out I completely love it and it just seems to work really well on my sometimes sensitive skin.

Toner is always the first thing I use in the morning. I just put a little bit on a couple of cotton pads and run it all over my face. This stuff is great for making sure your skin is completely clean and removes any traces of make-up that might of been missed from the night before.

I then go on to use my foaming cleanser. I honestly just wanted to try this as I had never used a foaming cleanser before but I actually really like it. It leaves my skin feeling really soft and even more clean than before. I put two pumps of this onto my finger tips and then gently massage it into my skin. After that I rinse it off with warm water and pat my face dry with a towel. The one thing I don't like about this is the smell but I can live with that.

After my cleanser I apply my vital vitamin day cream which is perfect for the morning since it is a lot thinner in consistency compared to other moisturisers. This means it soaks into your skin a lot quicker and it doesn't feel as heavy. It also has SPF in it so it protects us from the suns nasty rays.

The final step in my morning skincare routine is to apply my eye cream. This is the first eye cream I have ever used so I have nothing to compare it to but so far so good. Its nice and cooling so its feels refreshing in the morning and it definitely helps with puffiness. I just apply a small about to my ring finger and smooth the product onto my under eyes area.

My morning and night routine are very similar. I use all the same products that I use in the morning but I just add a few other products in too.

These facial wipes are the first thing I use at night. I use them to remove most of my make-up and find they work well. They are from either lidl or Aldi (I'm not sure which one) and they are very inexpensive. I go through these pretty quick so I can't afford to spend too much on face wipes.

I only use my St Ives face scrub every two days and I use it between my toner and cleanser. I honestly cannot explain how much I love this product. It works so well and leaves my skin looking a lot fresher. It also helps my blemish's disappear quicker. I put a small amount of this onto my fingertips and then apply it to my face using circle motions. Then I wash it off with warm water.

I then swap my day cream in my morning routine to my night cream. This is a lot thicker in consistence and is a lot more moisturising. I don't like to use too much of this because I don't want my skin to feel caked or oily so a small amount of this goes a long way. I think this is the product that played the biggest part in stopping my skin becoming dry. Which obviously mean I love it!

So that is my entire morning and night skincare routine. All the products work really well together and I'm happy i've finally found a routine that I stick to. I hope you enjoyed this post!

Nails of the Week!

Hi Everyone!

Long time no talk - SORRY!! I honestly dont really know what happened but I just haven't time to plan and write posts. Anyway, I thought I would share my first nails of the week post since I never get to paint my nails any more because of my job. I'm not the best at painting nails and I normally just go for a simple all over colour but this week I was a little adventurous (and bored) so I done a little bit of a pattern instead.

As you can see it is a pretty straight forward design, all I done was paint my thumb, middle and ring nails with the Barry M Helly Hi Shine in Watermelon and then my two remaining nails with the Lindalac white polish. After than I poured a little bit of the white nail varnish on to some paper and used a cocktail stick to draw the dots and lines onto some nails. I then decided that I wanted a bit of sparkle so I used the Barry M Nail Paint in Diamond Glitter on all of the remaining nails. Finally I added my favourite top coat which is Essence Quick Dry.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

What's In My College Beauty Bag?

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm going to share with you all the beauty related products that I carry to college with me everyday. They are all very basic products that are great for quick touch ups through out the day to keep you feeling fresh and confident.

I keep all the products in this little make-up bag. It is the perfect size and doesn't take up too much room in my bag. I bought this from Primark for £4 which of course is very good value and the quality level of it is very high. It is just plain black quilted material but it has a lovely cream bow on the front that makes it really cute and girly.

The make-up bag has two zipped sections which I find very handy as I can easily split my products depending on what they do. I decided to put all my make-up items in one section and hair and body stuff in the other. This just allows me to find the products quicker because I know exactly where they are.

Make-up Section

I don't carry too much make-up around with my but these few products are perfect for the (sometimes) essential touch ups. My first must have is my Rimmel Stay Matte powder, I use this to get rid of any shine I may get though out the day. I apply that with my little ELF kabuki brush. I also have my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer which I use to re-apply to blemishes to make sure they are kept hidden. Then I always have a black eyeliner to use on my lower water line as it seems to ware away as the day goes on. I finally have my chosen lip product of the day (on this particuar day it was Collections Cream Puff in Cotton Candy) and my Vaseline as since its coming into Autumn my lips are getting very dry.

Hair & Body Section

The first item is an Impulse body spray in true love since you always want to stay smelling lovely all day! I also carry The Body Shop's Strawberry hand sanitiser as I can't imagine how many germs are around my college. Hair grips and hair ties are essentials as you never know when your hair is just going to annoy you so this means you can easily tie it up and I may have to go straight from college to work sometimes so I need them for that too. Lastly I have some plasters as I am prone to the odd clumsy moment now and again.

I hope you enjoyed this post and are having a nice day/night!

A Day Out!

Hey everyone!
Today I thought I would share with you my lovely day out that I had a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't anything overly special but I had a brilliant time and it just shows it doesn't take a lot to have a great day.

Unfortunately where I live doesn't have that many good shops so my boyfriend and I decided that we'd go for a day out to our nearest city. We jumped on a train at 9.40am and arrived at our destination at about 10.30am. We spent ages going round all the different shops and ended up having lunch at Mcdonalds. By about 2.20pm we had managed to get round all the shops we wanted to visit, so we decided to head for the train station. We stopped off at Costa first, of course, to get a coffee for the journey home. I had a vanilla latte which are amazing and if you haven't tried them then you definitely should! So anyway here is my day in pictures...
Jumper - New Look
Disco pants - Miss Gudided
Bow Necklace - New Look
Black Ankle Boots - New Look
The top left photo shows all the lovely things I purchased, the top right photo shows my favourite t-shirt I bought, the bottom left photo is of an adorable Panda speaker that I really wanted to buy but didn't and finally the bottom right photo is of the Body Shops Peach body butter which smells amazing, I couldn't resist (also it's limited edition so buy it quick!!)

This last photo collage shows me on the train ride home and my lovely vanilla latte!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you are all well!
