Happy Halloween!!

Hi Everyone!

First of all HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! I hope you have all had a great day. This post is going to be all about the Halloweeny type things I done today.

Surprisingly, this is the first ever year that I've carved a pumpkin so I just had to include it in this post even though I carved it a couple of days ago. I must say, it was a lot harder than I expected so I kept it very simple. It turned out quite cute actually!
For my make-up today I decided to do my eyes a bit more dramatic than usual. I thought this look could be used for a witch costume or something.

Nivea primer
Revlon colourstay foundation
Collection lasting perfection concealer
Revlon nearly naked powder
Rimmel stay matte powder
NYX blush - Spice
NARS bronzer - Laguna
MAC mineralized skinfinish - Soft & Gentle
MAC paint pot - Painterly
MAC eyeshadows - Mulch, All that Glitters, Sketch & Charcoal Brown (for brows)
Maybelline brow drama
Essence liquid ink eye liner
Maybelline master drama eye liner
Maybelline rocket mascara
MAC lipstick - Brave
                                                                                                                                          Barry M lipgloss - 2

This is a very easy look to create. It could be worn everyday but I thought it would be a good Halloween look with the dramatic winged liner. For my eye shadow, I put Mulch all over the lid and All that Glitters as an inner corner highlight. I then ran Sketch all the way along my lower lash line to give a pop of colour.

Another thing I wanted to have a go at this year was some Halloween themed nail art. Now, I am not good at nail art and it didn't turn out that great but oh well I tried! The nail polishes I used were OPI - Call me Gwen-ever, Barry M nail paint - Diamond Glitter, Essence quick dry topcoat and Essence nail art pen - Black.

Everyone knows that you can't have Halloween with out sweeties. To solve my lack of sweets problem I filled a cute little pumpkin bucket with lots of different sweets.
Now that the day is basically over, I'm going to jump into my giraffe onesie (Since I did't get a costume this year, I thought I'd just wear my onesie which means I have technically dressed up but I'm also very cosy and comfy at the same time), put on my favourite childhood Halloween dvd and eat some sweets. Sounds like a pretty perfect night to me!

Thank you so much for reading. Enjoy the rest of your Halloween whatever you're doing!

October Favourites!

Hi Everyone!

Since it is now nearing the last day in October, I thought I would do my favourites post. I have five items to share with you today so i'll just get on with it before I start chatting away!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick - Plum Jam
I love this lip product so much that I have used this whole thing up in a couple of months. This is my everyday lip colour just now and I am so sad that its basically all finished. I have got to the point that im scraping the last bits out of the tube with a lip brush. The product itself is really glossy and moisturising which is great since the wearher is getting colder. It lasts a really long time on the lips and the colour is just beautiful.
Revlon Nearly Naked Powder
My well loved Rimmel Stay Matte powder has had a lot of competition this month from this powder. I really like how the Nearly Naked powder feels and looks on the skin as it is very soft and finely milled which means it does not look cakey. I have actually noticed a big change in the staying power of my foundation while using this.
Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer
As you may know, i'm a bit of a slacker when it comes to skincare so i'm always looking for short cuts. So when I found a product that was both a moisturiser and a primer I bought it straight away. Also the best part was the fact I got it for about £3. It just feels like a moisturiser but I think this product has worked really well alongside the powder, this month to make my foundation stay put longer. You can buy this product for both dry/normal and oily/combination skin which makes it appropriate for everyone (I chose the one for dry/normal skin.)
Vans - white
I have been wearing my white vans so much this month that i'm really surprised that they aren't completely filthy. They seem to go with everything and I find them super comfy. I will definitely need to invest in another pair very soon.

Ice Breakers Sours
When I found out Tesco and Asda were selling these I was so excited. I love them and now I constantly have them in my handbag. Being someone who loves to snack, these are perfect as they just stop my stomach from rumbling. My favourite ones are the watermelon flavour.
Thank you so much for reading!

REVIEW: No.7 Make-up Brushes!

Hi Everyone!

I've used No.7 make-up brushes for a long time now and my collection has grown at a nice steady pace. I have five of the brushes in total but I have multiple ones of some of them. I have different likes and dislikes about each brush so I will go through them all separately.

The first brush I have is is the Powder Blush Brush. To start off with I loved this brush, it was soft and it didn't pick up too much of the product. Although, after one wash unfortunately the bristles started to get quite wiry and almost felt jaggy on my face. Also the bristles started to fall out and separate, which you can see in the picture below. I do still use this brush but I use it to contour my cheekbones rather than using it to apply my blush as I find blush doesn't go on evenly with it any more. It is a shame as it is the perfect size for the apples of your cheeks. This brush cost £11.50 from Boots.

The next brush I have has to be my favourite out of all of them, considering I have purchased six of them now I must love it. It is the Eyeshadow Blend & Contour brush. This is the only brush that I will reach for when blending eyeshadow as it blends quickly and leaves a seamless eadge. I haven't had any trouble with shedding and it is still has soft as the day I got it. This brush cost £7.25 from Boots.

The next No.7 brush I own is the Eye Colour Brush. I love this brush for packing eyeshadow onto my eyelid as it makes it very vibrant and opaque. I have three of these brushes and would definitely buy more as I am constantly cleaning them. Again this brush washes well and doesn't shed. This one cost £7.25 from Boots.

I also have the Essential Lip Brush but I don't feel like I have much to say about this one. It applies product well to the lips and doesn't shed. That is all I really look for in a lip brush. The bristles have dyed pink because of lipsticks but that doesn't bother me at all. This brush was £7.00 from Boots.

The final one is the Precision Eyeliner Brush. I must admit, I find this brush to big to apply eyeliner but I love it for applying an inner corner highlight as the brush fits perfectly into that area. This brush cost £7.25 from boots.

Overall, I would re-purchase all of these brushes except the blush one. The rest are all really good and have lasted through many make-up looks and washes. Thank you so much for reading!

Five Favourite Autumn Lipsticks!

If you've visited my blog recently, you probably have seen my five favourite autumn nail polishes (if not find it here) so I decided to carry on doing these types of posts but with lipsticks instead. Autumn is the perfect time to start getting out the darker lipstick colours but I also sometimes like going heavier on my eyes so I have included a nude in my favourites. Lets get started:

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick -  003 Mauve It Over
I love revlon lip products and this is one of my favourite nudes in my collection but for some reason I only seem to grab for it in Autumn and Winter. I find this a bit funny because this is a matte lipstick so you'd think I'd go for a more moisturising nude but nope. I do wear a lip balm under this and sometimes a gloss over. For a matte it isn't too drying and the formulation feels quite creamy.

Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick - 886 Paparazzi
This lipstick was my recent big make-up splurge and I love it to pieces. I love berry toned lipsticks all year round but I thought i'd treat myself to a new one for Autumn. If you want to know more about this lipstick, i've already done a review post on it which you can read here.

Revlon Lip Butter - 063 Wild Watermelon
I would say this lipstick is the perfect red for everyday wear. It is quite subtle but can be built up to become more vibrant and bright. This lipstick looks great with a lot of different eye looks and I honestly can't wait to wear it more.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick - 107
I know for a fact that this lipstick is very loved during this time of the year by a lot of people. It is a matte finish but again I don't find it too drying on the lips. This colour is so pigmented and beautiful. I sometimes have trouble finding a red that actually suits me but this one is perfect.

Benefit - Benetint
I know this is technically not a lipstick but I just wear it so much it managed to sneak in. This tint lasts a long time on the lips and it gets darker if you apply more layers. It is a really lovely product and it is high on my recommendation list.

Favourite Products: Rimmel!

Hello Everyone!
For today's post I have another 'favourite products' for you all. The brand that I have chosen is Rimmel. I didn't actually realise how few Rimmel products I had in my collection but some of the products I do have I completely love. So lets get into it!

1. Wake Me Up Foundation
Being a drugstore foundation girl i'm always on the hunt for different ones to try and this is definitely one of my all time favourites. It has really good medium coverage and leaves the skin with a lovely healthy glow. I use the colours Ivory and True Ivory.
2. Stay Matte Powder
This is a big favourite through out the blogging world. Its such a great product so why won't it be. You only need a light dusting of this stuff to leave your skin completely matte all day. Even with my normal/dry skin this powder doesn't make my dry patches look noticeable. I use the Transparent powder.
3. Kate Moss Lipsticks
The formula of these lipsticks are brilliant. They aren't drying (even the matte one) and they look lovely on their own or with a lip gloss over the top. I have the colours 01, 05, 19 and 107. I like this range as it has the perfect nudes, pinks and reds.
(Left to right: 01, 05, 19, 107)
4. Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner
I have to admit I wasn't a big fan of these when I first got them. Since their formula is quite waxy, in my opinion, I felt like they pulled on my eye a bit. Although I found if I warm the liner on the back of my hand, they go on a lot better. They are very pigmented and last a good amount of time on the waterline. I have the colours Nude and Taupe.
5. Glam Eyes Quad Eye Shadow
This was my first ever eye shadow palette and I still love it. The colours go together so well and blend together really easily. The quad I have is Smokey Brun, I definitely recommend it!
I hope you enjoyed this post and get to try out some of these products. Have a great day!

Five Favourite Autumn Nail Varnishes!

Recently I have been completely falling in love with darker, more Autumnal nail varnishes. I can definitely say my summer pastels and brights have been pushed well to the side for these ones. So without further ado, here are my top five favourites for this lovely time of year:

(Left to Right: Barry M Matte in Crush, Barry M in Watermelon, Barry M in Raspberry, OPI in Suzi Takes the Wheel, Barry M Berry Cosmo)
You can probably notice a brand that I obviously love a lot for nail varnishes... Yes good old Barry M seems to have taken over my Autumn nail varnish favourites. What can I say? They are all lovely colours, with good lasting time and a cheap price tag. Sounds pretty perfect if you ask me! I also included one of my recent purchases, which happens to be an OPI polish. Here is a quick description of each nail varnish:

Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Crush
If you have read my blog before you have probably came across my review post of this amazing polish (you can read it here if you haven't). It is a beautiful dark, burgundy red colour and I surprisingly love the matte finish it leaves. It goes on perfectly and lasts well with a base and a top coat.
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Watermelon
I have had this polish for quite a while now but I didn't really use it much until now. This colour is a really dark green with some definite blue undertones. It leaves a lovely shine on your nails as well so if you didnt have time for a top coat it wouldn't be a disaster. It applies really well and lasts a really long time on my nails with very minimal chipping.
Barry M Nail Paint in Raspberry
As far as I know this is quite a popular one. I have only wore it a handful of times but I honestly love it. I would say this polish is a pinky red colour but it is much more red than pink. This colour will be even more lovely nearer the Christmas season. (Same application and lasting time as other Barry M Nail Paints)
OPI Nail Lacquer in Suzi Takes the Wheel
I really like this colour especially because I have nothing like it in my collection. It is a lovely muted, light grey and is just the most perfect transition colour from Summer to Autumn. I think it works so well because it is still a light colour but it's quite dull instead of bright. This polish goes onto the nails like a dream but I would say definitely use a top coat. (Nails of the day post here)
Barry M Nail Paint in Berry Cosmo
This nail varnish is a  very dark purple and the colour is just ideal. I've always had a thing for dark purple nail varnishes but this one is my most favourite. (Same application and lasting time as other Barry M Nail Paints)
I hope you enjoyed reading about my favourite Autumn nail varnishes.
Have a lovely day!

Baking Gingerbread Men!

So the weather was really horrible today and to top it off I was on the breakfast shift at work. Getting up at half five and going to work when its dark, cold, rainy and windy is never fun. Although I got the rest of the day off so that was a bonus. When I finally got home, I decided to do some baking since its Autumn and rainy. I seem to be a bit obsessed with gingerbread just now which of course means I have to baked some gingerbread men!!

Here is everything you need to make them (I got the ingedients list from Be-Ro Home Recipes 40th Edition):
Self Raising Flour - 300g
Salt - a pinch
Ground Ginger - 3tsp
Caster Sugar - 100g
Margarine - 50g
Golden Syrup - 3 tbsp
Milk - 4 tbsp
Chocolate Chips (as decoration)
Glace Cherries (as decoration)
Glace Icing (as glue for the decorations)

The first things you need to do is heat your oven to 160°C (325°F or gas mark 3) and either greasy or lay non-stick cooking paper onto baking trays. After that you need to mix the flour, salt and ginger in a bowl. Then you need to slightly warm the margarine, sugar and syrup together and then add it into the other mixture. The last thing you need to do is add the milk and then knead the ingredients together with your hands. The next part is the best - cutting out the little gingerbread men shapes! What you need to do is roll out the mixture (with a rolling pin) onto a floured surface and then use a gingerbread man shaped cutter to cut them out. You then take your're baking tray and lay all the little men (or women) on it and pop it into the oven for about 15 minutes.

(Look at the mess I made!! AHHHH!!)

Once the 15 minutes is up, just take them out of the oven and lay them on a cooling tray and leave them to well... cool. Then you can go ahead and decorate them however you like. I decided to go for chocolate chips as eyes and buttons and the glaces cherries as smiles. I thought it would also be cute to drip their hands and feet into thick, creamy chocolate to look like they were wearing gloves and boots. I didn't try that this time but I think I will at some point.

This is how my cute little gingerbread men turned out:

I hope you enjoyed this post. Sorry its not a regular beauty one but I just fancied a change and I do love to bake during the cold Autumn and Winter months!

Autumn Eyes #2

Today's post is another 'Autumn Eyes' for you all. This one was kind of an accident as I didn't plan on doing this type of post today, but I really liked how my eye make-up turned out so I thought why not! I used a lot of golds and bronze colours to create this look so it will suit a lot of people and should be quite simple to re-create.

I really wanted to get a really opaque gold base so with a flat eyeshadow brush I pressed Half Baked from my Urban Decay Naked palette all over my lid. After I had done that, I felt the gold was a little bit too yellow based for me so I took Smog which is from the same palette and applied that straight over the top of half baked. Smog is a more bronze colour with a little bit of a gold under tone so this just took the yellowness away from my eyes. I then took a fluffy blending brush and made sure there were no harsh lines. Since both of them colours were very shimmery, I decided I want to use a matte darkish brown through my crease to give my eye a bit of definition. For this I used Espresso from my MAC palette.

To highlight my inner tear duct I used Shroom also from my MAC palette and then I used MAC's Mineralised Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle as a brow bone highlight. The last thing I done to finish off my eyeshadow was I took a little bit of half baked and smog mixed together on a pencil brush and ran it along my lower lash line. I also smudged a little bit of a matte black eyeshadow into my outer corner to balance my eye.
MAC palette (left to right): Shroom & Espresso.
Urban Decay Naked palette (left to right): Smog & Half Baked
I then used my Essence Liquid Ink black eyeliner and made a small line along my top lash line. Finally, I applied two coats of The Rocket mascara by Maybelline.
I hope you liked this look, I think it's perfect for Autumn so definitely give it a go if you get a minute!
I also have another 'Autumn Eyes look' which you can read here!
