I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today's post is going to be all about how to make homemade chocolate mousse. I must say it is very yummy and super easy and quick to make. I got the recipe from a cute little book my Mum got with her Good Housekeeping magazine. The little book is called '101 Quick Festive Recipes & Ideas' and would definitely suggest picking the magazine up just to get you're hands on the amazing recipe book.
Surprisingly all you need to make the mousse are 4 ingredients:
Toblerone - 200g
Double Cream - 450ml
3 Medium Egg whites
Milk Chocolate curls (I used a Cadbury's Flake instead)
The first thing you need to do is melt the toblerone by putting it in a glass bowl over a pan of simmering water. While the chocolate is melting, the next step is to whip the cream until is begins to become thick. Once the chocolate is completely melted you then pour the chocolate on to the cream and fold it in. After that, the egg whites need to be whisked until they become stiff and then they also get folded into the cream. All that's left to do is separate the mixture into little pots or glasses (6-8 depending how big you want each desert). Then crush the flake and sprinkle over to decorate. Finally put them in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
This is a fantastic, quick desert that I'm sure will come in handy at this time of year. Also if you aren't a huge fan of chocolaty things, don't worry, this really isn't overly chocolaty. The nuts and honeycomb pieces in the toblerone give it a slightly different flavour which helps to distract from the chocolate.
Thank you so much for reading and let me know if you give this a try!
